Fr. Groeschel called me on the phone a month ago and

insisted that he do this retreat for me to make up for

having to cancel being at our June retreat. So I hope

you will all appreciate his efforts to make himself available

by attending this special opportunity.

Father will present 3 talks and give the homily at the Mass.

The talks relate to what makes for a truly happy and holy

marriage. The talks are not just for singles but apply to

everyone, so please let everyone know about this opportunity

to see and listen to Fr. Groeschel.

To get a printable flyer to put in your church vestibules or to

give to your pastor, click here or go to:
http://www.avemariasingles.com/pdfs/FrGroeschelRetreatFlyer.pdf
The retreat ends at 4 p.m. Bring your own lunch, or the shrine will

provide lunch you can purchase.

There is no set charge for this event. We are only taking donations

at the door. No need to register. Just show up. This is an AMS fund-raiser,

so we are hoping people will be generous at the door. Again, bring your

friends and relatives, or your church groups. All are welcome.

Please spread the word about this day retreat. I would be grateful. And

hopefully I will see you there.

Adult Stem Cells save lives and so can you...

Adult stem cells are a “natural” solution. They naturally exist in our bodies, and they provide a natural repair mechanism for many tissues of our bodies. They belong in the microenvironment of an adult body, while embryonic stem cells belong in the microenvironment of the early embryo, not in an adult body, where they tend to cause tumors and immune system reactions.

Most importantly, adult stem cells have already been successfully used in human therapies for many years. As of this moment, NO therapies in humans have ever been successfully carried out using embryonic stem cells. New therapies using adult type stem cells, on the other hand, are being developed all the time. Here are but a few of the many examples of success stories using adult stem cells.

Here is a story of a young Latino Woman who weeks before her wedding found out she had acute Leukemia...
A bone marrow transplant is one of the best ways to fight acute leukemia, say experts. Bone marrow is the spongy substance found inside large bones. It produces stem cells that turn into new red and white blood cells, and platelets. Allogeneic means the transplanted bone marrow comes from a matched donor -- preferably a family member. In Bertholin's case, no one in her family was a perfect match. Her next step was to join a national bone marrow registry called Be The Match Registry.
But she faced an obstacle: Bertholin is Latina. According to Dr. Jeffrey Chell, the chief executive officer of the National Marrow Donor Program which runs Be The Match, only 9 percent of people on the registry are Hispanic. "That's not enough," says Chell. Read more Here

Prayer for the Protection of Embryonic Children

Lord God, you lovingly knit us in our mothers’ womb. Grant that each human embryo will be respected as a human being, and not dismissed as a product to be manipulated or destroyed.

Grant us the courage and conviction to be your voice for our sisters and brothers at the very earliest stages of their development, and for all defenseless unborn children.

Jesus, Divine Healer, foster in those conducting medical research a commitment to finding cures in ways that respect these little ones and all your vulnerable children.

Holy Spirit, grant us the wisdom to develop morally sound treatments for conditions now thought to be incurable. Help us persevere in defending human life while alleviating suffering.

Show mercy to all who have cooperated in killing our tiniest brothers and sisters. Bring them and all who support destructive embryo research to true conversion. Grant them the ability to see the immeasurable dignity of all human beings even in the first days of life.

Father, we ask this in Jesus’ name, through the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Words of encouragement!

And before the Sun had fallen far from the noon out of the East there came a great Eagle flying, and he bore tidings beyond hope from the Lords of the West, crying,

Sing now, ye people of the Tower of Anor,
for the Realm of Sauron is ended for ever,
and the Dark Tower is thrown down.

Sing and rejoice, ye people of the Tower of Guard,
for your watch hath not been in vain,
and the Black Gate is broken,
and your King hath passed through,
and he is victorious.

Sing and be glad, all ye children of the West,
for your King shall come again,
and he shall dwell among you
all the days of your life.

And the Tree that was withered shall be renewed,
and he shall plant it in the high places,
and the City shall be blessed.

Sing all ye people!

Pope receives the message today "build a Civilization of Love" from unlikely messenger.

Encyclical
CARITAS IN VERITATE
Just days after releasing the newest Encyclical the Holy Father receives a message today
"let us go forward together, to build up a real civilization of love."
from Pope Paul VI. These words were said in the Homily at the Canonization of the first American Citizen Cardinal John Neumann. He was an immigrant and became a naturalized citizen. He joined the order of the Redemptorists and then became the "Little Bishop" of Philadelphia. Now this message is being literally carried from the body of St. John Neumann to our Holy Father by the most unlikely Messenger. Truly a message to the world and especially the United States.
President Obama brings this timely message of St. John Neumann's Life and the words of Pope Paul VI today via the gift of a Stole that is a Third Class relic of St. John Neumann.

Our ceremony today is indeed the celebration of holiness. At the same time, it is a prophetic anticipation-for the Church, for the United States, for the world-of a renewal in love: love for God, love for neighbor.

And in this vital charity, beloved sons and daughters, let us go forward together, to build up a real civilization of love. Saint John Neumann, by the living power of your example and by the intercession of your prayers, help us today and for ever.
from the Homily of Pope Paul VI on the Occasion of the Canonization of Cardinal John Neumann June 19, 1977.

God does work in the most mysterious of ways and he uses everything and everyone and especially through His beloved Saints to bring His message of Love! SYG

Young Woman Has Abortion After Getting Advice From Popular Discussion Blog

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- In a story that provides evidence of the power of the Internet and the need for pro-life advocates to play a part in abortion discussions on it, a young women has had an abortion after getting the advice of participants on a popular discussion blog, called Motherlode. Last week, a 22-year old woman name Emmie, who found herself pregnant, wrote to the blog seeking advice. In the email Motherlode writer Lisa Belkin posted, Emmie said she is about to begin graduate studies at a prestigious university and that she has recently moved away from her longtime friends and family and would have to face the prospects of a pregnancy alone. “I know I’ll have very little help, and especially since you write so often about mothers that need help every so often, that worries me,” Emmie wrote Belkin. “The father is no longer in the picture and, even if he was, he’s not the kind of person you’d want your baby near (a poor decision on my part, I know). I’m torn between my responsibilities as a mother, to protect and nurture my child, and my responsibilities to my future, to succeed academically and professionally.” Belkin asked her readers to be “kind and wise” in their response to Emmie and later learned she received nearly 700 emails with a range of reaction for or against an abortion. Emmie says she was not open to adoption and met with an adoption counselor and decided she couldn’t bear an adoption. So she decided to have an abortion and wrote to the blog about her decision, which she said made her happy. “Once I came to the decision to terminate the pregnancy, so much of the guilt and sadness I’d been feeling melted away.” Emmie’s decision stands as an example of the power of the Internet.

Assisted suicide amendment defeat welcomed!

The House of Lords this evening rejected Lord Falconer’s pro-assisted suicide amendment to the government's Coroners and Justice bill. The vote was 194 to 141, a majority of 53.

Paul Tully, SPUC general secretary, has this evening told the media that:

“This was a significant victory for the right to life. Time and again Parliament has blocked attempts to undermine the protective ban on assisted suicide. It’s time for the Voluntary Euthanasia Society – now repackaged as Dignity in Dying – to drop its parliamentary campaign, a campaign which is offensive to very many people who live with, or care for those with, disability or terminal illness.”

England voting on assisted suicide today in Parliment

Today England give example to the Popes teaching in Caritas in Veritate...

"The Church forcefully maintains this link between life ethics and social ethics, fully aware that “a society lacks solid foundations when, on the one hand, it asserts values such as the dignity of the person, justice and peace, but then, on the other hand, radically acts to the contrary by allowing or tolerating a variety of ways in which human life is devalued and violated, especially where it is weak or marginalized." Pope Benedict XVI (Caritas in Veritate)

URGENT Contact Lords immediately, assisted suicide debate today

This afternoon or this evening, Lord Falconer's very damaging amendment to the Coroners and Justice Bill is expected to come up for debate (see SPUC's previous campaign alert for in-detail information about the amendment). Please contact peers NOW and ask them to oppose Lord Falconer's proposal.

Some excellent resources, which can be forwarded as weblinks to Lords, are:

ENCYCLICAL LETTER CARITAS IN VERITATE OF THE SUPREME PONTIFF BENEDICT XVI

The Pope has released his encyclical CARITAS IN VERITATE!

Praise God!

“one of the most striking aspects of development in the present day is the important question of respect for life, which cannot in any way be detached from questions concerning the development of peoples.”Pope Benedict XVI (Caritas in Veritate)

Benedict XVI also denounces non-governmental organizations such as Planned Parenthood for working
“actively to spread abortion, at times promoting the practice of sterilization in poor countries, in some cases not even informing the women concerned.”Pope Benedict XVI (Caritas in Veritate)

Looking at a society that accepts legalized abortion as a social commitment to the common good the Pope says,
“the acceptance of life strengthens moral fibre and makes people capable of mutual help. By cultivating openness to life, wealthy peoples can better understand the needs of poor ones, they can avoid employing huge economic and intellectual resources to satisfy the selfish desires of their own citizens, and instead, they can promote virtuous action within the perspective of production that is morally sound and marked by solidarity, respecting the fundamental right to life of every people and every individual.” Pope Benedict XVI (Caritas in Veritate)

The best spiritual director is the one whom created our soul at the time of Conception...

When we contemplate the women, who are finding themselves at a moment of great despair and lack the Hope and Love only found in our Lord, we have to depend on our own quiet voice that converses with the Lover that will lead us in our actions to help guide these women to their own conversations with the Lover of their souls...

It is Our Lord whom our minds turn to when we are in need of direction and it is He who whispers to our soul. If we listen and do not allow ourselves to be distracted then we will feel that beautiful love that is only felt when we enter into the most intimate of communication with our Creator. SYG

In order to be a help to others and to carry out my daily activities according to my state in life I used to think I had to find a Spiritual Director. Now I know that the Spiritual Director that I seek can only be found in the quiet depths of my soul.

Here is a beautiful book that can help you understand the quiet whispers of the greatest lover of your soul. Open this book Abandonment To Divine Providence
By Father de Caussade
and you will be amazed at the beautiful conversations you are already having with the Lover of your soul!

Then and only then will you be able to spread that love to others in even the smallest of actions or the most unusual of places.
