Due to rain the St. Patricks Parade was rescheduled for 3-21-2009

Amazingly the new date for the parade fell on the date of the World Down Syndrome Awareness Day. Our Lady of Lourdes Raleigh participated for the first year with a float that said All Life Is Precious. Float participants included parishioners and the Lifeguards and three Ambassadors for Downs Syndrome. What a beautiful day! During the parade children handed out lifesavers, pencils with sayings like Down's Syndrome isn't scary it is just different, there were signs that said All Life is Precious and Love doesn't count Chromosomes...

After the parade there was an information booth where literature was handed out to many and a special thanks to the One Bread Lay Apostolate! who allowed us to use a corner of their booth that sold Catholic Items and have served to be a voice of truth for so many years in the St. Patrick's Day parade.

God is Good! thanks to Mary and Theresa!
